Meet the face behind Van Daelen

Hello, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is María Sofía Delvalle Narbona, and I’m the founder behind Van Daelen Jewelry.

Creating a jewelry brand has been a dream of mine since childhood. Over the years, that dream grew into a deep appreciation for what jewelry truly represents. To me, jewelry is far more than something beautiful — it carries meaning, emotion, and memories. Whether it’s a piece you choose for yourself or one you give to someone you love, it becomes part of a story.

I’ve also always been drawn to science, which led me to develop a fascination with the world behind gemstones — how they form, their rarity, and what makes each one unique.
I graduated in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech at the beginning of the pandemic — a time filled with uncertainty, but also opportunity. I chose to use that moment to pursue something I had always been curious about but never had the time to explore. That’s when I discovered the online programs at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). What began as curiosity quickly turned into passion. I immersed myself in my studies, and after completing my coursework, I traveled to New York to attend GIA’s lab classes, where I became certified in diamonds, pearls, and colored gemstones.

Van Daelen was created with the intention of offering more than just fine jewelry. My goal is to guide each client with honesty, knowledge, and care — helping you find or create pieces that feel personal, meaningful, and lasting.

Every stone is thoughtfully sourced, and every piece is selected with the belief that fine jewelry should not only be beautiful today, but cherished for generations to come.

Our workshops provide resizing, repairs, and even full transformations. If you have a piece you no longer wear, we can transform it into something modern while preserving its original essence.

We also specialize in custom-made jewelry by working closely with you to design something truly one-of-a-kind, crafted with attention to every detail and using only high-quality materials.
